DragonBall Z: Shin Budokai 2 : Another Road
Podcast Episode #0057 + Shin Budokai...2?
VegettoEX @ 10:45 am EST -- Episode #0057 of the podcast is available for download! We had another laid-back episode this week, bringing back favorites Jeff Heller and Mr. Andrew Deluxe, himself. We dived into another episode of "Fandom Theatre" and shared some responses to e-mails, discussed the news, etc. Ol' Julian was stuck spending time with his girlfriend. Poor man. Definitely check it out. And while this didn't make the news roll for the episode, it appears that Gamestop.com has a listing for a new PSP game entitled DragonBall Z: Shin Budokai Another Road. Is this a sequel to the previous Shin Budokai? Is Dimps actually still working on stuff? The date is set for 7 March 2007. Long-time readers may remember that the original Shin Budokai was first discovered via a retailer listing online (Gamestop, no less) almost exactly a year ago, as opposed to an announcement via V-Jump, so this may indeed have some validity to it. alleen veel wijzer word je er niet van Nieuws: Krijgt de PSP een nieuwe Dragon Ball Z game? Geschreven door Jesper Petit Bron: EBGames - English translation Vrijdag 05 januari 2007 - Nadat de serie Dragon Ball Z voor het eerst op tv te zien was, waren vele mensen meteen verkocht door deze vechtersbazen. Hierna volgden vele games van deze tv serie waaronder Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai. Deze kwam vorig jaar uit voor de PSP. Als dit verhaal over deze opvolger klopt, zal de officiële aankondiging van deze opvolger waarschijnlijk dan ook niet lang meer op zich laten wachten.  De Amerikaanse gamesite EBGames heeft namelijk al een pagina over deze game op hun site staan. Deze game zou Dragon Ball Z Shin Budokai: Another Road gaan heten.  Nieuwe DBZ titels voor de DS en PSP Nieuws | 24 januari 2007 - Atari heeft bekend gemaakt bezig te zijn met de ontwikkeling van twee nieuwe Dragon Ball Z titels. Het gaat om Dragon Ball Z Shin Budokai: Another Road voor de PSP en Dragon Ball Z Harukanaru Densetsu voor de DS. Wanneer deze games in Europa moeten verschijnen is nog niet bekend, maar ze staan deze lente alvast gepland voor Amerika. Dragon Ball Z Shin Budokai: Another Road is het vervolg op Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai, een titel die eerder op de PSP is verschenen. De game geeft je de mogelijkheid om te spelen met helden van Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z en Dragon Ball GT. Deze game moet een nieuwe verhaallijn bezitten die Future Trunks helpt met de strijd tegen zijn aardrivaal Majin Buu. Twee nieuwe Dragon Ball Z games aangekondigd Er komen weer twee nieuwe Dragon Ball Z games naar ons toe! Vorig jaar kwam Dragon Ball Z Shin Budokai al naar de PSP. Atari heeft vandaag bekend gemaakt dat ze met een vervolg hiervan komen, deze zal ook op de PlayStation Portable verschijnen en zal gaan heten: Dragon Ball Z Shin Budokai: Another Road. Er gingen al een tijd geruchten rond dat deze game zou komen maar er was toen geen bevestiging. Nu is die er wel en kunnen we zeker stellen dat hij er aan komt. Dragon Ball Z Shin Budokai: Another Road zal wel wat veranderd zijn tegenover zijn voorganger. Zo zal deze opvolger 50 nieuwe aanvallen bevatten en ook nieuwe personages. Het verhaal zal ook compleet nieuw zijn. In Dragon Ball Z Shin Budokai: Another Road zal je Trunks volgen met zijn missie om Majin Buu te verslaan. Is de VS zal dit spel in Maart uitkomen. Atari houd het niet alleen bij de PSP, de DS zal ook een eigen Dragon Ball Z game krijgen. Dragon Ball Z voor de DS zal in Japan "Dragon Ball Z Harukanaru Densetsu" gaan heten. Dit spel zal doormiddel van een kaartensysteem gespeeld gaan worden en moet op de Dragon Ball Z games van de Gameboy Advanced gaan lijken. Dragon Ball Z Harukanaru Densetsu zal in de lente van dit jaar verschijnen. |

Fans of the franchise keep coming back for more, and fortunately for them, the games keep getting better and better. They're still a rather niche set of titles, but the mechanics are becoming solid enough that anyone who gives them a chance can find a good deal of fun within. The latest game in the ever-growing DBZ franchise is (deep breath) Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai - Another Road, set for release later next month exclusively on the PSP. The game is the follow-up to the original PSP release of Shin Budokai released just over a year ago, and from what we've seen of the sequel so far, it looks like Atari's fighter is improved in most every way. Another Road follows a "what if" story surrounding Trunks and marks the first time in the franchise (not just the videogame series) that fans are presented with an offshoot storyline. The story is based around Trunks and his rise to power, though a number of other characters do appear and will be playable through the course of the six-hour story mode. The first mission in the game sees a number of enemies attacking a nearby city and the only person that can save the people is Trunks. You need to fly over to each of the attackers and do away with them before time runs out and the cities are destroyed. As was the case with the previous game, Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai - Another Road features a control scheme that's both easy to pick up and play while providing a nice bit of depth for hardcore players. Buttons mashers will be able to jump right in and work between the attack buttons for some pretty killer combos, but advanced moves like Instant Transmissions will require precise timing and a knowledge of each fighters' differing styles. As well, mastering the art of charging your power while also remaining on the offensive requires a great deal of skill at the advanced difficulties. The game feels great thus far and plays better than last time out. Button presses are translated to on-screen actions instantly, allowing you to make split-second changes in your combos. The camera is situated in a better position at a roughly 45 degree angle to the fighters, making the game more cinematic while also enabling you to see everything that's going on. In addition to the returning Ad-Hoc play for fighting amongst your friends, Another Roads introduces Z-Trials, an arcade-esque set of three different challenge types that will task you to master your DBZ combat skills. Survival has you fight as many combatants as you can in a row, while Time Attack sees how quickly you can be an opponent. The unique, third mode here is simply called the Challenge type, where you'll be thrown into a normal battle except that you'll be given a goal of some sort, be it either pulling off a certain number of specific moves, attaining a certain combo multiplier or something of this nature. Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai - Another Road looks great thus far and may wind up being one of the best DBZ games yet. We're not sure if the single-player mode will provide as much game time as the last title, but the fighting mechanics have been tightened and the camera is certainly improved.
